My son started reading at 18 months - while reading to him early helped, I think it is just in his genes. His sister is not at his level, but she has a love of books. She uses her imagination when she reads, and she loves being read to.

Some nights I read with them, other nights my husband does, and if we're both unable, my four year old reads to his sister.Floryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01953880218222761505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5643125597753622858.post-84703235883864640192010-10-08T15:05:10.520-04:002010-10-08T15:05:10.520-04:00I loved reading to my son, too. I read that reading to your kids helps with their speech, as well, although it didn't seem to help with my son. He is 2 and still does not talk well or put words together. Maybe it will work with my other son.Amohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12819434610364508410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5643125597753622858.post-7438839870383840002010-10-07T21:43:53.525-04:002010-10-07T21:43:53.525-04:00MOPTG, I'm running out of room for all our boo...MOPTG, I'm running out of room for all our books!

Septembermom, I "go with the flow" when it comes to reading material, but luckily my son likes books as well as the younger edition comic books.

Nancy, we recently relented and bought my son a DS and I have had to regulate it's use because otherwise he would play it non-stop!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03709765480911390955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5643125597753622858.post-60817424266556568872010-10-07T21:28:26.601-04:002010-10-07T21:28:26.601-04:00DG, I often felt this way too.
